For Students
MySciLife is a place where you can use your favorite creative tools to connect what you are learning in science class to the real world around you -- and you'll be learning and sharing together with students at other schools across the U.S., all in a safe, online community. In MySciLife, you take on the role of science “identities” like cells or rocks or magnetic forces. You could even “be” a tectonic plate or a severe thunderstorm. Watch the video to hear what kids think about learning with MySciLife. MySciLife is currently for middle level (gr 6-9) science classes. It is free! Ask your science teacher (and next year’s science teacher) to check it out! | What MySciLife Students Say: "With MySciLife, I was using all sorts of technology and I got to act like a cell or act like a rock and that was really neat because not only was I learning, but while I was, I was having a blast! I love science in general and I think science at school was great and all, but with MySciLife it was so much more in depth and It made me more curious to find out, 'What is homeostasis?' or, 'Where is quartz found in the layers of Earth?' I loved the Experience, and I loved MySciLife." "Other students really critiqued my work and told me how to make it better. I also think that if I didn't understand a subject or vocabulary term I could look at what they did and see how it differs from my work." "It helped me be more creative and have fun interacting with other students on MySciLife, instead of sitting in our seats and using a pencil." "I think the most rewarding part of MySciLife are the comments. If you get a good comment it means that someone actually read the work that you worked hard on, and if they enjoyed it, it is even better."
